Bella Swan
Coven: Cullen
DOB: 13th September, 1987
Year of Transformation: 2006
Mortal Eye Colour: Brown
Hair: Chestnut
Special Abilities: Bella is a shield, even as a mortal, which is why Edward can't read her mind and Jane can't attack her. It isn't until she becomes a vampire and meets Zafrina who teaches and encourages her to expand her mind to protect herself and those around her, that she realises her potential and finds out how powerful she really is. Bella's other ability which appeared before the shield, is much the same as Carlisle's, but perhaps more powerful. She is able to control her vampiric urges and control her desires, this ability disturbs Jasper.
Additional Information: Before coming a somewhat powerful vampire, as a human Bella was accident prone and attracted bad luck. Though as a human, she was already a shield, she and others around her just didn't know it.
Actress: Kristen Stewart
In Twilight, Bella is a 17yr old mortal girl. She has left warm and sunny Phoenix, Arizona to come and live with her father in cold and dreary Forks, Washington.
She really doesn't want to live in Forks, like her mother before her, she doesn't think much of it but she made this choice so that her mother, Renee could spend time with her new husband Phil.
Her first day at Forks High, she finds everyone knows who she is and she is of a huge interest to a good deal of the boys. Bella isn't used to so much attention, she's never been one to fit in, let alone be popular, but it all doesn't interest her, she'd rather fade into the background, but then she sees them, the Cullen family.
When Edward saves Bella from being crushed by a van, he gives a hint to his secret. Totally fascinated by Edward, Bella doesn't let the fact that Edward was at her side in the blink of an eye or that he lifted a van off of her. Edward tries to avoid her, but before long, they're inseperable.
Accepted with open arms by almost all of Edward's family, everything seems to be going smoothly, but bad luck and danger never seems far from Bella. Watching an innocent game of baseball played by the Cullens brings three vampires to the field. Very quickly they realise Bella is human and a strange part of this vampire family. One of the vampires is a tracker and loves the thrill of the chase. He has his sights set on Bella and won't stop until he has her, so Edward and his family take Bella away to protect her and her family.
It doesn't take James, the tracker vampire, long to locate Bella and deceives her into leaving Alice and Jasper to meet him in a dance studio. It looks as though Bella's life is about to come to an end after James bites her and she has accepted this as her fate. Just as it is all coming to an end, Edward is there and faced with a choice ... to allow the vampire venom from James to change her or suck it out and save her, leaving her human.
In New Moon, Bella and Edward have been together for a year and are happy and content.
It is Bella's 18th birthday and she is feeling her human years slip by. The decision to be at Edward's side forever has been made and Edward only wants Bella, but he also wants her to stay human.
Suddenly everything changes when Bella suffers a paper cut surrounded by the Cullen family. In a split second, Jasper has a moment of weakness and more of Bella's blood is spilled. Edward decides that Bella would have more of a chance at survival without him...without any of them, so the Cullen family leaves.
Bella suffers hugely, feeling mental and physical pain at the loss of Edward. After a few months of wasting away, Bella re-enters the land of the living, catching up with friends. She finds life a little easier with Jacob Black, her best friend.
Accidently, Bella finds that putting her life in danger allows her a very real visitation from Edward within her head. He is concerned for her safety and often pleads with her to be safe, but he is gone and never coming back, so she torments the voice in her head, just to hear his voice.
Just when life is starting to settle down and Bella is finding some peace and happiness, another turn of events threatens to send Bella back into the dark depression she's recently come out of. Something has changed with Jacob and suddenly the rock of her existence is avoiding her completely.
Just when Bella thinks that the only mythical creature she'd ever meet was the Cullen family, she find her best friend is also a part of the mythical world. Vampires and werewolves both are real, both exist and in her world. Now Bella faces another danger as Victoria, mate of James, is hunting her.
After a near death experience, Alice returns to Forks and finds Bella alive, though not necessarily well. Misinformation sends Edward to Italy in an attempt to end his life. Again danger is around Bella as she follows Alice in an attempt to save Edward, though walking into the heart of vampire royalty. Again Bella's life is at risk, can Edward save her again, can she save Edward first?
In Eclipse, Bella and Edward are reunited and happy again, though a little shaky. Of course Bella is still surrounded by danger as Victoria still exists and is still trying to make her way through to Bella, but with vampires and werewolves on her side, surely she must be the safest person alive.
For Bella, the solution is simple ... she still wants to be with Edward forever and he with her, so it only makes sense to change her, but Edward still is against it. Though the rest of the Cullen family is keen to see Bella a part of their family. A comprimise of sorts is reached, after graduation Bella will be made into a vampire, but not by Edward, not unless she agrees to his one condition ... marriage. Bella isn't so keen to marry so young, though she isn't keen to get much older either.
Vampires are causing havoc in nearby Seattle and the Cullen family is getting worried. Not only that, Bella has had an unknown vampire in her room. The vampires and werewolves are trying to trap Victoria and work out why someone would visit Bella, yet not harm Charlie as he slept in the next room, nothing makes sense. Is it the Volturi checking on the promise Edward made?
Soon everything becomes clear and it is realised that Victoria has created many vampires as a distraction and as a small army to attack the Cullen vampires and ultimately get to Bella and end her life. The werewolves and vampires team up to protect Bella. When the battle is over, the danger isn't. The Volturi have finally arrived to check on the young vampires that have caused headlines in Seattle, using it as an excuse to check on the Cullen family and more importantly, check on the status of Bella's mortality.
In Breaking Dawn, Bella has finally agreed to marry Edward and the date is approaching fast. Bella now starts to get nervous about her decision to become a vampire so soon, but Edward assures her it won't happen until she is ready, he is no hurry.
Everything is ready and perfect for her wedding, though her best friend is missing, having disappeared after having his heart broken at Bella's acceptance of Edward's proposal.
Edward and Bella leave for a romantic honeymoon on Isle Esme. Everything is perfect in Bella's eyes, though Edward is very wary of hurting Bella in their love making after bruising her accidently. Before long Bella realises she is pregnant with Edward's child and the newlyweds rush back to Forks to see what can be done before the baby grows too much, though Bella has other ideas.
With the help of Rosalie and Esme, Bella continues the pregnancy, even though it endangers her life greatly. As the baby grows rapidly inside her and endangers her life, Bella is insistant that she will carry the baby to term, even if it means her life is forfeited.
The werewolves divide as Jacob protects Bella and allows no harm from the growing pack to come to her. Even though the smell of the vampires burns his nose, he can't stay away from Bella. As the baby comes closer to being born, Jacob becomes more protective of Bella and needs to be near her more and more.
When the baby is born, it nearly tears Bella apart, coming close to claiming her life, but Edward is prepared. Frightened that he might not stop and ultimately kill her, he injects his venom into her heart and covers her in small bites in an attempt to save her.
Bella and Edward have a baby girl who grows just as rapidly outside the womb. Surprisingly, Jacob is very protective of this little baby and rarely has her out of his sight.
Just when everything starts to settle down as Bella gets to know about her new body as well as adjusting to being the mother of a very special little girl, a turn of events happens once again.
The Volturi arrive and they've come to destroy those who stand against them and collect those who can benefit them. Once again the vampires and werewolves side together, but are they strong enough to withstand the attack of The Volturi and their gifted vampires like Jane and Alec? |
